My beloved brethren in Christ, let us always remember to "put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places," as the Lord tells us through the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6: 11-18. As we are in a war for our souls with the prince of this world, the devil, our ancient enemy.
We must realize that this war will not cease until we are called to go home to Heaven, as the Lord says in Ecclesiastes 8:8, and therefore, we must be strong and not give up on the good fight of faith, as it is for the deliverance of our souls and the souls of many others. For we know that not all men will be saved, but we can fight to save many of them by interceding for them in prayer and by preaching the gospel to them. For who knows, but the Lord only, if they will listen and find salvation for their souls by taking heed to Jesus voice, through us and through our testimony!
Brethren, we are almost home and as the Lord tells us in His Word in the gospel of Luke 21:19 "In your patience possess ye your souls." Or as ye wait for my soon coming return, take care of your soul that you are not deceived and fall into the wiles of the devil to destroy your soul.
So it is our responsibility to deliver our souls, by abiding in the Lord daily, and by also daily submitting to Him and to His Word, for the devil does not know mercy, as the Lord knows. And his purpose is to destroy us here on earth, in hell and our relationship with the Lord.
So remember that "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." as Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10: 4-5.
For we know that those strongholds are the words that the devil puts in our thoughts against the Lord and His ways, through his demons, through his children, the unbeliever and at times the saint of God, as we continue to fall short of His glory. Because sin still dwells in us, but does not have the dominion over us, as it does with the unbeliever, for their old man (or sinful nature) has not been crucified on the cross with Jesus, as ours have.
So remember to use your sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God, when the devil comes against you with his lies, as he did to the Lord, when he tempted Him in the wilderness during those 40 days. And remember that you are not fighting him alone, for the Lord's angels are with you, as well as the Lord Himself. And they are fighting for you and with you, as He promises us that the battle belongs to Him in 1 Samuel 17:47 "And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD'S and He will give you (the wicked) into our hands." For He will give you the victory, as well, so don't give up and remain strong in Him and in the power of His might, as He says in Ephesians 6:10, through Paul the Apostle.
