Prayer Changes Things!

Prayer Changes Things   By Nanyamka Boyer

Good day, my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, it is my prayer that you are having a blessed day and that you and your loved ones are found in good health, faith, hope and strength in the Lord. On this day let us remember that prayer does change things even when the answer seems to be no or to continue to wait. For we know that if we are abiding in Him and if it is within His will, we can have whatsoever we ask of Him, as it says in 1 John 5:15 "And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."

We just have to make sure that we first seek His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto us, as He says in Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Don't give up upon your prayer life, even when you have to wait and the wait is long, for the Lord loves persistence and does not mind us being a nuisance to Him, for He will never push you away or get tired of you coming unto Him, for He tells us in John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." It is the effectual prayer of the righteous man that availeth much, as our beloved brother James says in James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual (or able to produce a desired effect) fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." And also what the Lord tells us in Luke 18:1 "And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not faint..."

The Lord is not like us who quickly give up or grow weary, and does not give up on us easily, for He is a persistent God and loves persistence and wants us to persist in our walk, prayer and faith in Him, to seek Him until we find Him and until the breakthrough or the answers to our prayers have been delivered.

The Lord says in Isaiah 40:28 "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding. And what He also tells us in Psalm 121:4 "Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." So He will never grow weary of your coming unto Him, whether it is through prayer or through praise and worship or through your time spent with Him in His Word or prophecies of His faithful servants the Prophets.

The reason He has us wait for the answers to our prayers it is because He is working patience, and long- suffering in us, as He is, for remember that we were and are created in His image and as such, we must be holy as He is, for He is the author and finisher of our faith, so He has to finish His work in us, so we can be like Him, as it is written in Hebrews 12:2, by our beloved brother Paul the Apostle.

So let us ask in faith for what we need including for wisdom, as it says in James 1: 4-8 "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting (or lacking) nothing (spiritually he means). If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

Let us also remember that without faith it is impossible to please Him, as it says in Hebrews 11: 6-8 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." So we must have faith when we pray and seek His face and believe that He hears us and answers our prayers, for as He also says in His Word that apart from Him we can do nothing!

But we know that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us, as it also says in His Word. We can do this even through the strength or grace He gives us through His Holy Spirit, to seek His face in prayer without giving up on Him even when we feel we cannot go any further.

Remember that though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil, for He is with us, walking beside us strengthening us and encouraging us through His Spirit to go on. And though weeping endures for the night or through the dark season in our lives, joy comes in the morning or unto the next chapter of and in our lives. For as it is written in Ecclesiastes 3: 1 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.. And in verse 4 of the same Chapter: "A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.." So this season of mourning and trial in your life will come to an end, for every storm under the heavens, always wear themselves out, as the Lord says. So remember that the Lord is the beginning and the end of all things in this world, including of our lives.

So continue to nag on the Lord, as He told me to do years ago, until He comes through for you and remember to always pray specifically for the answers to your needs.

Go in peace and with your faith, hope and heart strongly focused on God, on the God of all hope, comfort and strength in this world. The Sweet Lover of your soul! Blessed be His holy name!
