Rising Above The Storms Of Life! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good morning saints, my beloved reader, and fellow brother or sister in Christ our Lord. May you on this day be filled with the joy of the Lord, His peace, comfort and strength to make it through another day in this world. It is my prayer that you are keeping your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith and not on the things that are happening in your life, whether good or bad and are also happening around you in this world. For all these things are temporal and will all pass away in the Lord's appointed time, but His Word and the Lord, who is eternal, will never pass away, as He tells us and promises us in His Word in the gospel of Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
On this day, let us remember that as children of God, we all go through times of sufferings in our lives, as it is written in Job 5:6-7 "Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground. Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward." And in Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all."
But the advantage of the believer in Christ is that we have hope in Him to make it to heaven and to be purified from that trial, so we can look or be more like Him, in His image. As for the unbeliever, it is because of their sins against the Lord and against others that the Lord is judging them, to wake them up and to show them that they are going the wrong way and to point them to the Beloved Savior of their souls, before it's too late. For as it is written in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
So as we go through the trials of life that do not happen to us by chance, as we just read from the scripture from the book of Job, and as I myself have heard from the Lord say, for He is in full control of our lives, including the trials that He sends our way through the devil, the vicious enemy of our souls. To test our love for Him, our faith in Him, also for the purpose to strengthen our faith, and to make us in His image. We, as the eagles do, let the storms of life carry them through above the storm, as they spread their wings and glide above the dark clouds, must also let the wings of the Holy Spirit carry us through our storms or through the trials of our lives. And must wait on Him to bring us out of those storms, without giving up on Him. For as He says in His Word about the Holy Spirit and wants me to give you this scripture that is written in John 3:8 "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and wither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."
I learned on line that the eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it happens. And that they find a high spot and waits for the winds of the storm to come. And when the storm hits, it opens up its' wings, so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. And while the storm below is happening, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escapes or tries to get away from the storm, but it simple uses the storm winds to lift it up higher. And his eyesight is so keen that they can see miles away from where they are at and can even sense when the enemy is near. This is also a parable of the life of the Saint or of the believer in Christ, for as Christians we know that the storms of life are not preventable and they must come and will come. And just as the Lord gave the eagle a keen eye to see faraway and to sense when the enemy is near, so can we! For we can see into the future spiritually, as all things are already written in His Word for us, and we walk by faith and not by sight! And sense also when the enemy is near, through and by the Holy Spirit, as He gives us a discerning spirit.
For the Lord even tells us in His Word that He sends His rains upon the just and upon the unjust in Matthew 5:45 "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." And in Ecclesiastes 9:11-12, which is one of my favorite books in the Bible, we read: "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare: so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them."
So as we wait for our next trial to come, let us be wise and prepare by spending as much time as possible with the Lord in His Word, in prayer and in intimacy with Him, also through praise and worship, so He can fully prepare us for what we will have to go through. The Lord once told me that: "what you learn today will serve you tomorrow, and what you dismiss today will defeat you tomorrow."
So let us be wise and prepare for the inevitable (or unavoidable) that is determined by the Lord to happen in our lives and be like the wise eagle who goes to the high spot and waits for the storm to come, so they can spread their wings and let the storm carry them above it. So you likewise, go to your high spot in God and wait for the storm to come, by preparing with the Lord or by letting Him prepare you through His Word and holy presence. And let the wings of His Holy Spirit, lift you above it, as the storm passes through your life and let Him carry you through it, as He takes you and your faith higher in Him, as you spread your spiritual wings in Him.
Have a blessed day and remember that our time on earth is short and is temporal, and that the Lord is coming back very soon to take us home. So remember that what you are going through and are about to go through, will come to an end very soon. For as it is written in His Word in Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven."
So be and stay strong and keep your eyes upon Jesus and let Him carry you in life, just as the Footprints Poem says that He does, when we go through our trials. And just as the Lord tells us and promises us in Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." So He will do in our behalf, for our God cannot lie and always keeps His promises.
So have faith in God and the faith of God and always believe! For with our God, all things are ALWAYS possible! Blessed be His holy name!
