Respecting His Sanctuary! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day my beloved brother and sister in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that on this day you are standing strong in the Lord and in your faith in God. As the days are evil and full of Satan's wickedness all around us, through those who do not fear the Lord and don not obey Him. But as our beloved and courageous brother Paul the Apostle, who was so full of faith, courage, power, boldness and might in the Lord said in Acts 20:22-24 "And now, behold, I go bound to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God." So let us also not let none of the evil things that the devil and at times through his own children, throws at us, move us from our walk, relationship, faith, and from our position in God!
On this day let us remember that the temple or sanctuary of our Beloved Savior, Lord and Faithful God is holy and as it is holy, we must revered it as such, for it is His dwelling place. And we must not behave and dress up inappropriately, like the wearing of jeans, hats and a t-shirt, as that is not the appropriate place to wear these kinds of clothes. For there is a time and a place for everything in this world. For we are not going to a sporting event or to a rodeo, but to the house of Almighty God. For it is His house of prayer for all people, as the LORD tells us and promises us in Isaiah 56:7 "Even them will I bring to my holy mountain (or where His dwelling place will be in the Temple at Jerusalem during the 1,000 year reign of our Lord Jesus Christ), and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people."
We come to the Lord as we are, even if it is in jeans and a t-shirt, if that is all we have, but we cannot remain as we are, and continue to go dressed in jeans and a t-shirt to His house of prayer, after having gotten saved, (for the Lord always provides). For as we yield to Him, He changes us and teaches us His ways continually. And if time has gone by and we still have not changed our ways, do not respect Him and His sanctuary, and do not keep His commandments, we are then still in rebellion against Him, against His commandments and ways of life and therefore are not saved. For we are called to bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, as our brother John the Baptist tells us in Luke 3:8 "Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham."
We as women, must not wear tight clothing (tight short or tight long dresses and tight skirts or pants), or have our shoulders showing and even wearing fancy hats in His house, for is not about us, but all about Him. For we go there to visit and praise and worship the Lord, fellowship with the saints, and hear His Word of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and of guidance in and for our lives. So we must dress godly at all times, as women of God that are set apart unto the Lord and dress holy for their bridegroom, in and outside of the Church building. For remember that as His saints, we represent Him in this world and in His house. And His house also includes our bodies that are the temple of the Holy Ghost, and because these are His holy temples (His House of prayer and our bodies), they must not be defiled or be made unclean (for the Lord through the Holy Spirit, lives there), by the way we carry or represent ourselves, before the Lord and before others in this world. For the Lord sees all things and watches us, as well as the unbeliever and we do not want to set before them (the unbeliever) a bad example.
We must also not use His House of prayer and of worship for ulterior motives, like go to His house for the purpose to seduce our fellow neighbor, but for the purpose to seek the Lord, His Word and for fellowship. But if this is the place that the Lord has ordained for you to meet your fellow mate or spouse, without you having the intention to go there to look for a date, then we know that there's no better place for us to meet our spouses, but in the House of God!
We must also not use His temple or house of prayer to promote our businesses or do anything that is ungodly. For this was one of the reasons that the Lord got so upset and angry with those who were using His house of prayer and His temple as a marketplace, for the purpose of merchandising their products, as we read in the gospels, but will read it in the gospel of Matthew 21:12-13 "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves. And said unto them, it is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves."
So as the LORD commanded His people: the Nation of Israel and continues to do, as of this day to all the people in the earth, especially His saints or the believer in Christ in Leviticus 26:2 "Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD." So let us also do, for as I just heard the Lord tell me, so I can relay it to you that those who honor Him, He will also honor in which He says in 1 Samuel 3:30 "Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house (the house of Eli, the High Priest during the time of young Samuel, the soon to be Prophet in and of Israel), and the house of thy father should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed."
Go in the peace of God and never be ashamed to obey the Lord and to stand up for what is right before Him, for His name sake and for your soul's sake, even if the whole world chooses not to obey the Lord, nor follow Him and mock you for doing so. For remember that the gospel is "the power of God unto salvation, to those that believe in Him, to the Jew first and also to the Greek or to the Gentile Nations," as Paul the Apostle says in Romans 1:16. And remember that the things of the Lord are foolishness to the unbeliever, as it says in 1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." So remember that the unbeliever will always see your faith in God, as a foolish thing because their hearts and minds are blinded to the truth, by the enemy of our souls, and will never understand and believe the things and ways of God, unless they repent and come to the knowledge of the truth. For remember that it is the truth or the Lord who is the only truth in this world that sets men free once we accept it and believe in it!
So don't let the lies that the enemy tells you in your mind or through others, discourage you in your faith and walk with God, but let it instead strengthen and encourage your faith in God, the more, even if you are the only one walking with God and doing what is right before His eyes and for Jesus. For we are called to be like Him and only like Him! Blessed be His holy name, now and forever more!
