Abiding In God’s Word! By Nanyamka Boyer

Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Awesome and Faithful, Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Strength and Comforter in Life! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well, both spiritually and physically, you and your loved ones. And that you are also sober or with a sound mind and awake spiritually in the Lord. For remember that we as beloved children of God are commanded by the Lord to daily keep His Commandments and must also daily apply His Word in our lives or we will not be saved and be in the center of His perfect will for us. For we must do as the Lord commands us and says through our beloved brother and Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 5:8-9 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." So continue to remain awake spiritually, by abiding in the Lord and doing His will for you, as our enemy the devil does not rest in seeking the destruction of our relationship with God and of our souls, here on earth and in hell.

On this day let us also remember to abide in His Word for the benefit of our souls, both spiritually and physically. For as we seek Him, He speaks to us and shows us where we are spiritually in Him and gives us the guidance that we need to continue to go forward in Him and not fall away. For remember that His Word is to us a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, as the Lord through our beloved brother King David says in Psalm 119:5 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." For remember that the Word of God was given to us for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so we can walk in and with Him, as we read by the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

For remember that the Word of God is our spiritual bread and if we are to live spiritually in and with the Lord, we must daily eat His Word, as He told the Prophet Ezekiel to do in Ezekiel 3:1-2 "Moreover He said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll (or His Word), and go speak unto the house of Israel. So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that roll." And to the Apostle John in the Book of Revelation in Revelation 10:9-10 "And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up: and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter."

For the Lord is our Bread of Life, as He says in the Gospel of John in John 6:35 "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." For remember that as we study His Word and also do Communion often, He abides in us and us in Him, as He told His ancient people the Nation of Israel and also tells us in the Gospel of John in John 6:47-51 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat man-na in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life (or so that the world through me might have life, both spiritually and physically and also in heaven) of the world." And in John 6:53-58, the Lord tells us about partaking of His body and blood for the salvation of our souls. "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat man-na, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread (His Word and physical body through Communion) shall live for ever."

For remember that the Father in the Old Testament told us that man will not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God will man live, and also commands us to keep His Commandments, as He commanded the Nation of Israel to do and now to us, the whole world, but especially His Saints, as we read in Deuteronomy 8:1-3 "All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply and go in and possess the land (to us now the land of Heaven, the Lord means) which the LORD sware unto your fathers. And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments or no. And He humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with man-na, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."

And the Lord Jesus later rebuked the devil, when he tempted Him in the wilderness, after He fasted those forty days and forty night and also reminds us, as we read in the Gospels, but we will read it in the Gospel of Matthew 4:1-4 "Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

So know the Word of God, so you can also rebuke the devil and send him under the soles of your feet. For as you remain in the Lord and continue to study His Word, you have His power, authority and strength to resist the devil and to obey the Lord's Word or Commandments.

Go with God, take the Lord with you wherever you go, have a joyous, blessed and peaceful week, daily remembering to study His Word, so you can also exercise discernment, for remember that the devil also knows the Word of God very well, but twists it for our destruction, as the Lord reminds me, so I can let you know. So as our beloved Apostle Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15, so does the Lord now tells us to also do: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." And as the Lord Jesus commands us in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 10:16, so also be and daily do! "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
