Building Our Lives Upon Jesus!

Updated: Jan 28, 2024

Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Blessed, Beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our spiritual Foundation and Rock in life! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you courageous, healthy and strong in the Lord, you and your loved ones, both spiritually and physically. For as we remember and meditate on the Lord's Resurrection on this Easter Sunday, let us also remember that we have the chance to have a new beginning in our lives and to start a new life in Him, spiritually if we have left Him and sinned against Him, as He resurrected from the dead for us, so that we may be forgiven of our sins, be reconciled to Him, have eternal life in Him and through Him and be the person He has created us to be in His image, both spiritually and physically, free from the flesh, the enemy and from the world, full of faith, courage, power, boldness and might in the Holy Ghost.

So let us thank Him for living His perfect and sinless life for us, when He came to earth 2,000 years ago, so that we could be the righteousness of God in Him, also for dying on the Cross for us, as He paid the full penalty for sin, which is death, and for being resurrected for us from the tomb, so that we could have His newness of life in us, by and through the Holy Spirit, as He now lives for us in Heaven and in our hearts, as our beloved brother and mighty Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 6:4-6 "Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

Also for allowing us to see another day in this world that He did not promised to give us, so that we can see that He loves us, cares for us and about us and awaits for us to come to Him, and also as our beloved brother the Prophet Jeremiah wrote about Him in Lamentations about His mercies being new every morning toward us, so that we are not consumed in Lamentations 3:22-23 "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." And for giving us another chance at life to obey Him, wait on Him to come through for us with the answers to our prayers and to continue to trust in Him and in His love for us. For Easter is a time of new beginnings in and with God, so let us have hope in Him. For there's hope for us, for things to change for the better in this world and for our lives.

On this day let us also remember to build our lives upon Jesus, who is the Rock and the spiritual foundation for man's life! For this is why the Lord Jesus told us in the Gospel of Mathew about the parable of the wise man who built his house upon a rock, for when the storms came, it fell not because it was built upon a rock, as a foundation. And about the foolish man who did not build his house upon a rock, but upon the sand and it fell because of the lack of foundation, which represents our spiritual lives in this world, when we either apply or reject His Word in our lives, as we read by Him in Matthew 7:24-27 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house: and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."

For when we build our lives, spiritually and physically upon the Lord, as our faith is placed upon and in Him, we then build our lives upon a secured foundation, as a rock is strong, stable, and unmovable, when the storms of life comes upon us. For this is why the physical storms that we see in the natural realm destroy the houses and properties of the unbelievers, because as the Lord passes by, by His Holy Spirit and by the enemy, He sees that, that person's life is not build upon Him spiritually and therefore He has to judge that person's life, as the wages of sin is death, as we read in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Also to get their attention to help them look up to Him for salvation and guidance. For this is why the angel of death killed the firstborn of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, also all the firstborns of the Egyptians and of their cattle, as we read in Exodus 12:29 "And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle."

For remember that the Lord knows who truly belongs to Him or not, as He is God Almighty, sees, hears and knows all things, for we cannot deceive Him, but only ourselves. And this is not to say that the righteous or the Saint in Him, does not goes through this kind of suffering or trial, as Job did in the Bible. For remember how the devil, after asking God permission in heaven, brought a whirlwind or a tornado and caused the house of Job's older son, where Job's children where eating and drinking wine to fall upon them and killed them, as we read in Job 1:18-19 "While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell, upon the young men, and they are dead: and I only am escaped alone to tell thee." But this is why He tells us that whosoever hears these sayings of Him, and does them, He will compare him or her to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock, who is Him, because our spiritual foundation is solid and stable in Him, so when the storms of life fall upon us, we will remain standing in Him.

For remember that being right in our own eyes is foolish and results in death, and this is why the Lord says in the Book of Hosea the Prophet in Hosea 4:6 that: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge (or the knowledge of the truth, who is Jesus and His Word), I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." For when we dishonor the Lord and live a life in and of sin before the Lord, even our children and loved ones pay for our sins and suffer along with us. So let us be wise and take heed to His Word, reap life eternal, as the Word of God is the law of this world and Universe and there's nothing we can do to change it, but to agree with it, for the benefit of our souls and lives.

Go with God, have a blessed Easter Sunday, peaceful, joyful and blessed week, remembering that if you are willing and obedient to stand upon God's Holy Word and to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, that the Lord will always be with you, give you the strength and wisdom that you need to stand without falling away, when the storms of life come upon you. For remember that as the fishes that are caught in an evil net in an evil day, so do we also fall into great trouble, especially when we are unaware, as we read by our wise Lord through King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them."

So gain your spiritual and physical strength, wisdom, knowledge, courage and understanding, as you spend time with the Lord in His Word and in prayer, for preparation against the evil day, so you don't give in to the enemy of your soul, when he comes against you like a flood of many waters with trials, persecutions and tribulations. And remember that when he does, the Father promises us, through His Spirit or through the Spirit of the Lord, who is the Holy Spirit and also through you, as He lives Jesus' life in us, that as you rebuke him, resist him and bind him, that He will set up a standard against the devil, as God the Father promises us in Isaiah 59:19 "So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him." Blessed be His holy name, for His faithfulness!
