Cleaving To The Lord Our God! By Nanyamka Boyer
Greetings to you my beloved brother or sister in Christ, our Blessed Savior and Lord. It is my prayer that on this day all is well with you and your family. And to remember that it is because of the Lord's mercies toward us that we are not consumed, as His mercies are new to us every morning, as it is written by the Lord, through our beloved Prophet Jeremiah in Lamentations 3:22-23 "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." And to also remember that in the Lord we always have hope and whatsoever it is that we are and will ever be in need of in this world, for the Lord is and will always be faithful to us.
On this day, as there's panic and hysteria all around the world concerning the Coronavirus plague, let us remember, as Christians to keep on cleaving unto the Lord our God, as He commands us to do and that He alone is our protection, salvation and guidance in this world. For as Christians, we do not need to be and live in fear, as fear has torment, as we can see it happening all around the world right now and is also written in 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." For to our God alone belongs the escape from death, as it is written in Psalm 68:20 "He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death." And as Christians we are commanded by the Lord to walk by faith and not by sight in Hebrews 10:38-39 "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." And in 2 Corinthians 5:7, we read: "(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)"
And as the Lord reminds me to give you this scripture, so I do in which He says, through the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:18 "While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." So let us not be in fear and make irrational decisions, but let us always seek the Lord, before we make any decision in our lives, so He can give us the direction and wisdom that we need in our lives for His provision, as He commands us to do in Proverbs 3:5-7 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." For the believer in Christ is set apart unto the Lord from the world and does not sees things as the world sees them, but through the Lord's eyes, for we have confidence in the Lord, as Isaiah the Prophet says in Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." For we know that our God is always in control at all times and protects His own from evil, for if you are truly in right standing with Him, He has your steps ordered by Him, and keeps you in the center of His will, as He says through King David in Psalm 37:23-25 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD; and He delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
So fear not, have no fear and cleave unto the Lord your God, especially in this time of great darkness in the world, for as He promises us that He would do in 1 Kings 8:12 "Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that He would dwell in the thick (or great) darkness." For our God is everywhere and will not abandon us, as He promised us to never leave us nor forsake us in Hebrews 3:5 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
Have a wonderful, joyful and peaceful week abiding in the Lord and remember that this too shall pass, as the Lord says and that to everything under heaven there is a time and a season, as it is written in Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To every thing there is a season; and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" And this season of pestilence, as the Lord foretold us in His Word that would come to pass to the unbeliever, though some of the righteous are not exempt, is happening and will continue to happen to judge them for their wickedness and to point them to Him, while they have the chance to come to Him, before it is too late for them to do so. And it will continue to happen in the near future until He comes back, as it is written in His Word for the same purpose. So stay in Jesus daily and keep obeying His commandments, so that when He sees the blood of His Son upon you and your household, He can pass over you, as He did with His beloved ancient people, the Nation of Israel in the land of Egypt. So be strong and have no fear, but have the faith of God, always! Blessed be His holy and sweetest name!
