Correction Are The Ways Of Life! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day my beloved brother or sister in our Blessed Savior and Sweet Lord Jesus Christ, our Mighty Tower and Fortress. It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well and in good spirits, as the Lord has given us another day in life in which to live, move and have our being in Him, through His Beloved, Blessed Son and our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. For remember that it is because of the Lord's great mercies toward us that we are not consumed, and judged as we deserve, as our beloved brother Jeremiah the Prophet understood and wrote in Lamentations 3:22-23 "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." And also as the Lord Himself says in Malachi 3:6 "For I am the LORD, I change not: therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." So let us daily be thankful to the Lord and worship Him, as our beloved brother and mighty King David did before the Lord continually and wrote in Psalm 65:1-2 "Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come." Blessed be His holy name Saints! For our God is truly worthy and deserves all of our admiration, praise and exaltation, for who He is and for what He daily does for us humanity, especially His beloved Saints. For He is the only One who is truly for us and not against us!
On this day let us remember and take heed that corrections are the way of life before the Lord and as Christians, we must be willing to and accept the corrections of and from the Lord, whether they are through His spoken Word to us, through others or through the circumstance that He is allowing us to go through in our lives, through an attack of the enemy, as he did with Job. For it is a test in our lives to the saint in and of God and a sign to change our ways, when we are in sin before Him. For as it is written in Proverbs 12:1 "Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish." And remember that our God resists the proud and is attracted to humility, as He gives His amazing grace unto the humble, as it is written in James 4:6-7 "But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit ye therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
For as the Lord Jesus says in Revelation 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent." And as I hear the Lord remind me, so I can give it unto you what He says in Proverbs 3:11-12 "My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of His correction: For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom He delighteth." For correction is a word of caution from the Lord to fix what is wrong or broken in our lives that needs to be fixed and it is not because the Lord loves us less. For the proud in heart does not like to receive correction, be humble nor to humble himself before God. So let us be wise and remember what is written about the proud in heart in Proverbs 16:18-19 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud." For those that receive honor from the Lord are the humble ones, as it says in Proverbs 18:12 "Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, before honour is humility."
And the words of Jesus reminds us that those who exalt themselves will be abased or brought to shame before the Lord and others, as we read in the Gospel of Luke 18:9-11 "And He spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."
So watch out when you start getting prideful, and be sure to give it to the Lord in prayer, for you will start hearing yourself speak about yourself with all the I's, taking glory for the Lord's blessings and achievements in and upon your life, as Lucifer did before the Lord, before he fell from heaven, he and his angels who followed him, as we read in the book of the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 14:12-14 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." For the glory belongs to the Lord alone, and He is not going to share it with no man, as He says in Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." And also as God the Father says about him (the devil) in the book of Job in Job 39:34 "He (Satan) beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride." So let us remain humble, so we can remain the children of God, through Jesus and not of Satan, for as I hear Him remind me that He dwells with and is a friend of the lowly, as He says in the book of Isaiah the Prophet in Isaiah 57:18 "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
So go with God, have a blessed and peaceful week, filled with the Lord's joy and presence upon your life. And remember that we must enter the kingdom of heaven, as little children, humble and pure in heart, as the Lord says in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 18:1-5 "At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them. And He said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
So let us remain humble, for in due time the Lord will exalt us, as the Lord says through our beloved brother Peter the Apostle and Disciple of Jesus in 1 Peter 5:6-9 "Humble yourselves therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." And remember that you can do ALL things through the Lord Jesus who strengthens you, as our beloved brother Paul the Apostle says in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me." Blessed be His holy name, for giving us His mighty strength, through the Holy Spirit, who is the mighty power of God!
