Depending Upon Our Source Of Life!

Updated: Jan 28, 2024

Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Source of and in Life! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well, healthy and strong, both spiritually and physically, you and your loved ones and still abiding in the Lord. For remember that He is the Keeper of our souls, our Sustenance and Protection in life, both spiritually and physically, as we daily abide in Him and carry our crosses. For as Christians we do not have to live in fear, as fear has torment, nor worry about what we will eat, or what we will drink or wear, as the Lord knows about all of our needs and daily takes care of us, as He promises us through our Beloved and wise King David, who experienced His faithfulness in his life, as we read in Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."

Also as our Beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Light of this world and in our lives tells us in Matthew 6:25-26 "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink: nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on, Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" For He (God the Father) has promised us that He will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus our Lord, as He says through His beloved and mighty Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

So live by faith, by believing that the Lord, who is your El - Shaddai or our Provider in life will see to it that all of our needs are met, as we seek Him and abide in Him. But as He says in the Gospel of Matthew to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness or what pleases Him, and all of the things we need and want according to His perfect will for us will be added unto us, as we read in Matthew 6:31-34 "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles (now the unbelievers) seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

On this day let us also remember that the Lord alone is our Source of Life and not ourselves and others, for we must depend on Him only for all things that we need in this world to be met in our lives, besides our soul's salvation and not just for some things and not others. For remember that He cares about the little things in our lives, as He cares for the sparrow and the ants and has said that apart from Him, we can do nothing, and by this He means: do nothing that will benefit us spiritually and physically in this world and bring us eternal value or add to our eternal home in heaven, as we read in John 15:5 "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." And as we daily seek Him and abide in Him, we can do all things through Him, who strengthens us to obey Him, stand after we have done all to stand and whatsoever it is that He requires us to do in His name or behalf, as the Apostle Paul understood and wrote it in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

We must remember that our God is a Jealous God, and when we seek man or depend on them or upon ourselves for help and our sustenance without first seeking His help and council that is the arm of the flesh, as He tells us in Jeremiah 17:5-8 about the man who makes flesh his arm to depend upon."Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh: but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

For we provoke Him to jealousy and anger and as I just heard Him speak, so I write that He will not share His glory with no man and give His praise that belongs to Him alone to graven images, as some people worship idols instead of their Loving God and Mighty Creator and Savior, who made them in His image and daily sustains them, as we read in the Book of the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD: that is my name and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." For this is why we are all commanded by God the Father in Exodus 34:14 to not worship other gods. "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice."

For worshiping idols, including others and ourselves brings a curse to the land and in our lives, and we end up cursed like it, as the Lord commands us not to do in Deuteronomy 7:26 "Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it: for it is a cursed thing." So let us be wise and take heed to the Commandments of the Lord for our spiritual and physical benefit and prosperity. For we must thrive and produce good fruit in the Lord.

Go with God, have a blessed, peaceful and joyous week, not being in fear or worrying about your problems and future, but give them to the Lord, for He is already there, but by being wise through the Lord's Word and Unspeakable wisdom. For when we find it, we live, both spiritually and physically and are prosperous in life, as He says in Proverbs 3:13-19 "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is everyone that retaineth her. The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth: by understanding hath He established the heavens. By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew." So love wisdom, who is the Lord, so she can daily give you eternal life! Blessed be His Sweetest and Mighty Holy name, for giving us all we could ever need in this world to make it and have eternal life, beginning at the moment of our salvation. For when we have Jesus, our Beloved God, Savior and Lord, we are never poor or without our needs being met, spiritually or physically, but fully complete and rich in Him!
