For Unto Us A Child Is Born! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Prince of Peace and Everlasting Father, for He is our Faithful God and Heavenly Father! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you healthy and strong in the Lord, both spiritually and physically, you and your loved ones. For remember that we have a God who is always in control, is always with us, feels our pain, and cares about us even in our darkest hours, for this is why it is written by the Lord, through the Angel Gabriel, when he told Joseph in the Gospel of Matthew that the Lord's name shall be called Emmanuel, which means God with us, as we read in Matthew 1:23 "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
For the Lord Jesus and the Beloved Holy Trinity goes through everything that we go through and will ever go through in this world, whether good or bad, for just as He was then, when He first came to us on this earth 2,000 years ago to save us from our sins and from eternal damnation in hell, that He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, as we read in the Book of the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 53:3, so does He continues to be acquainted with all of our griefs. "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not." For remember that when we as His Beloved Saints suffer or go through trials, tribulations and persecutions, we are partaking in the Lord's suffering and we can then relate to what He went through back then, as we have that in common.
So as the Lord would say, rejoice that you have been found worthy to suffer for His name's sake, for as the Lord also says in the Gospel of John in John 16:20-22 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you." So know that your sorrowing is only temporal, as are all things and all of us in this world, as the Lord through the Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:18 to encourage us. "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." And that you are not alone in your suffering, for our God greatly loves us and will never abandon us, especially when we need Him most. For remember that He dwells in the thick darkness, as He promises us in 1 Kings 8:12 "Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that He would dwell in the thick darkness."
On this day let us also remember that Christmas is about the Birth of Jesus, the Loving Savior of ALL mankind and not about ourselves, Santa Claus that does not even exist and is a lie from the pit of hell and the master of deception or any other reason and we must honor the Lord God and give Him glory, for sending us His Only Begotten Son. For remember that God the Father was the First Person in this world to ever give us the First Christmas Gift or Present, His Only Begotten Son: JESUS, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger, surrounded by smelly animals, as the Lord's birth was not in a fancy hotel or hospital room. For our God is humble, as it is written in the Gospel of Luke in Luke 2:10-12 "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." And also as we read by our Savior in the Gospel of John in John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
So let us on this Christmas Day focus and meditate on the Lord's birth, life, death, burial and resurrection and thank Him for coming to us on this earth in human flesh to show us how to live for God, be strong in Him and in the power of His might, resist the enemy (the devil), walk by faith and not by sight, be free from the enemy's grip, our flesh, the world's system, be forgiven of our sins and be able to make it to heaven, by accepting His atonement and sacrifice for us on the Cross. For He is always worthy even when we don't understand His will or what He is doing and purpose for our lives, for remember that He is always a God who is close at hand unto us His creation and not afar off and that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, as we read in Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."
Let us also remember the stranger or homeless and unbeliever, orphans, widows and the poor this Christmas Season and also throughout the year, for remember what the Lord commands us through His beloved brother and Apostle James in James 1:27 "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." And also in James 2:14-17 "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." And this includes helping the unbeliever in this world, when they need help if we are able to help them.
God bless you, go with God, have a blessed, joyous, peaceful and Merry Christmas you and your family, remembering that the Lord loves you and more than anyone could ever love you in this world, is always with you and all you have to do is study His Word, obey Him, talk to Him, tell Him your troubles and sorrows and He will answer your prayers and lift you up, as it is written in James 4:10 "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up." Forget the past also, for there's nothing there for us to go back to, but only to glean from what we can learn from it, for life goes forward is short and we must go forward with it also or we'll be stuck in the past, never being free and be the people that the Lord has called us to be in Him. Blessed be His holy name!
For this is why the Lord through the Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 3:13-14 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." And remember that the joy of the Lord is your strength, so daily praise Him and worship Him, so you can abide in His joy and strength, as we are told not to grieve by the Holy Spirit, through the Governor Nehemiah in Nehemiah 8:10 "Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
