Growing Up In & With The Lord! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day my beloved brother or sister in our Blessed Faithful, Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Light & the Light of this world. It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well, both spiritually and physically, full of hope and faith in the Lord. For remember that as we live in this world we know that as Christians we can come at any time boldly unto the throne of grace before God, to obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our times of need, as our beloved brother Paul the Apostle says in Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." And that we can also cast all of our cares upon the Lord, so He can sustain us, as we daily need His help and strength in this world to sustain us, both spiritually and physically, so we don't lose hope and fall away, as it is written and we are also commanded by the Lord to do, through our beloved brother King David in Psalm 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
So let us daily seek Him and give Him our troubles, as He is the only One who can truly help us and not the arm of the flesh in this world, including our own, for when we do, we fail and sin against Him. For remember that being wise in our own eyes, results in death, as it is written in Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." And this is why the Lord also tells us in Jeremiah 17:5-7 "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departed from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."
On this day let us remember that growing up in and with the Lord results in life eternal, beginning at the moment of salvation and in having eternal benefits, beginning here on earth. For when we daily walk with and in Jesus, we are led by Him in the way that leads us or causes us to profit, as He promises us in Isaiah 48:17 "Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." And as we call upon Him, grow up in Him and with Him, He shows us things that we have not known before in His Word and in the Spiritual Realm that it is and will be for our benefit, as He says in Jeremiah 33:2-3 "Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is His name: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." For remember that it is the truth of Jesus that makes us or sets us free, as He says in the Gospel of John in John 8:31-32 "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." For His people including the lost, as the Lord says in His Word are destroyed for a lack of knowledge and this He means the lack of knowledge of the truth of His Word, as He says in Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
For as we obey the Lord and keep His Commandments we walk in His wisdom and discernment, to keep us from the evil that is in this world, as He lives His sinless life in us, for us and through us, through His Blessed and Faithful Holy Spirit. For this is why He commands us to abide in Him in the Gospel of John, as we read in John 15:1-8 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." This He says, so we can bring forth good fruit or the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives that we read about in Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
So let us be wise and abide in the Lord daily, as we follow Him, so we can continue to grow up in and with Him, so we can remain saved from damnation in hell, safe from our flesh, the wicked and our ancient enemy Satan, in this world. For the Lord alone is eternal life, our security, hope and salvation in this world and not anyone or anything else, as He alone is our Deliverer, High Tower, Refuge from the storms of and in life, the Fountain of Living Waters, the Water of Life and Bread of Life. For as we daily seek Him, we also gain the strength and courage to soar in the Spirit high above our troubles and issues of life that continually happen all around us and seeks to consume us spiritually and physically. But as He promises us in Isaiah 40:31 and is also one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible, as it gives us great hope: "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Blessed be His holy name!
Go with God, have a blessed, joyous and peaceful week, remembering that we can walk with Jesus daily, as He gives us His grace and strength to do it. As He promised Paul the Apostle and also promises us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 "And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." And in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Blessed be His holy name, for giving us the strength that we daily need to walk with Him, keep His Commandments, have a sound mind, overcome our flesh, the ways of the world and the devil!
