Jesus: The Bread Of Life! By Nanyamka Boyer

Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Faithful, Blessed and Loving Savior, Jesus Christ, our Wonderful Comforter and Mighty God! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you in good health and in good spirits, both spiritually and physically, you and your loved ones. For remember that if you are found lacking the Lord's joy and holy presence in your life, ask Him to give you a fresh infilling of His Faithful and Mighty Holy Spirit, as He is our boost in life and enables us to stay focused on God and close to Jesus. And also seeing all things from His point of view.

For as we soar with Jesus in the heavenlies, as the eagles soar in the skies, we let Him carry us through and above the storms of life, spiritually, by His Blessed and Faithful Holy Spirit. As it is written of Him that it is He (the Holy Spirit), who accomplishes all things on the earth and throughout the Universe in Zechariah 4:6 "Then He answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." And also as the Lord Jesus says in the Gospel of John, as He told Nicodemus in John 3:8 "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst tell whence it cometh, and wither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." And in one of my favorite scriptures, as we continue to wait on Him, to come through for us with the answers of our prayers, as we read in Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

So continue to wait on our Blessed, Faithful Savior and Lord, have hope in God and never doubt His love for you! For He knows what He is doing and has your name engraved in the palms of His Mighty hands, so He can always remember you, as He promised Jerusalem and now promises us His beloved Saints in Isaiah 49:16 "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."

On this day let us also remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Bread of Life, and without Him or without His Bread, we cannot live spiritually or physically. For death spiritually causes us to die physically, sooner than our appointed time is, because of sin and the lack of faith and nourishment, through His Word in our lives. For this is why God the Father tells us in Deuteronomy 8:2-3 "And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years (and to us His Saints now, the amount of time that we have been spiritually in His wilderness) in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no. And He humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."

And also as the Lord Jesus told Satan, when he tempted Him in the wilderness and wanted Him to sin against the Father and turn the stones into bread, after He was an hungred, having fasted for forty days and forty nights, as we read in the Gospels, but will read it together in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 4:1-4 "Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

For as Jesus says in the Gospel of John about Himself in John 6:47-58, so let us eat of His flesh, through Holy Communion and by partaking of His Holy Word, so we can live in Him and have His blessed life living in us and through us. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your Fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread (through Communion and through studying His Holy Word, the Bible), he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life (or that the world can live spiritually here on earth and physically with Him in Heaven) of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us His flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this (He is speaking of Himself) bread shall live for ever."

So daily cleave unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith and life. For apart from Him, we withered and die, both spiritually and physically and cannot serve Him and others or produce good fruit. For when you spend time with Him in His Word, the more you will become like Him and will walk and speak as He does, full of His love, faith, courage, power, boldness, might, joy, peace, meekness, wisdom, self control, patience, long-suffering, forgiveness, compassion and mercy.

Go with God and remember to always take the Lord with you wherever you go, for you need Him, for He knows where the pitfalls of the devil and his demons are, and will help you avoid them. So have a blessed, joyful and peaceful week, knowing that the Lord is always with you and in control of all things and has a purpose and a good plan through and with everything He does. Also remember to daily dive into His Holy Word, so you can remain immerse in Him, through Him and by Him, filled to overflowing with His Faithful and Mighty Holy Spirit and with His Holy Word, so you can be fully satisfied in your hungry and thirsty soul, who is the Bread of Life and the Fountain of Living Waters! For in Him alone we truly live, move and have our being, both spiritually and physically in this world! Blessed be His Sweetest and Powerful Holy Name, always and always!!
