Jesus: The Water Of Life! By Nanyamka Boyer

Good day my beloved brother or sister in our Wonderful Counselor, Blessed Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Mighty Fortress, Strong Tower and Great I Am! It is my prayer that this blog finds you well, filled of the Holy Ghost and encouraged in your daily walk with God. For remember that in Him we have a secured hope, a future and are not as the world is without hope and without spiritual and physical security. For as it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:18, by the Lord through our beloved brother Paul the Apostle: "While we look not at the things which are seen (including people), but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." And He promises us in Isaiah 46:4 "And even to your old age I am He; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you."

For as Christians we know that our season of mourning is temporal and is not a permanent moment, for the joy of the Lord is our strength, as it is written by the Lord, through His servant Nehemiah in Nehemiah 8:10 "Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." And that weeping may endure for a night, or for a short season, but joy comes in the morning light, when the darkness is over, as our beloved brother King David wrote in Psalm 30:5 "For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

So as we go through dark nights of the soul, let us remember to serve the Lord and His creation: the poor, orphans, homeless and widows, as the Lord through the Governor Nehemiah said for us to do in Nehemiah 8:10. And to know and always remember that as beloved Saints of God, our seasons of mourning are temporal, for the Lord is our strength and our joy in life. Blessed be His holy name! And in Him, we always find what we are in need of, whether the need is spiritual or physical. So let us be as King David was, who encouraged himself in the Lord, and also daily encourage ourselves in Him, as it is written of him (King David) that he did in 1 Samuel 30:6 "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God."

On this day let us also remember that in our Lord Jesus Christ is the Water of Life for our thirsty souls, for He is the Fountain of Living Waters, as He says in Jeremiah 2:13 "For my people have committed two evils, they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water." And also as He told the woman at the well that we read in the Gospel of John, who was blessed and chosen of Him to see Him, hear Him, know His heart and serve Him in John 4:10-14 "Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink: thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto Him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank there himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

For the Water of Life of or from the Lord is His Holy Word, the Bible and whatever Word He speaks to us, through His servants the Prophets and humble servants in His body or Holy Church. For He is the Bread and Water of Life!! For as we live in this world and need the physical water of life to sustain our physical bodies, so we also need His Word or Water of Spiritual Life, to sustain our spiritual life, so we can fully live in this world, spiritually and physically. And fully move and have our spiritual being in Him. For the Word of God quenches our thirsty souls, satisfies us, fills our spiritual hunger, completes us and makes us whole. Whole to be the person we were meant and created to be in Him and in this world, which is full of love, joy, peace, meekness, long-suffering, self-control, temperance, boldness, courage, His power and might and all the fruits of the Holy Spirit that the Lord through the Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

So seek Him daily so that the hunger and thirst that your soul needs, that we at times look for in all the wrong things, places and people, can be quenched, strengthened in Him and in His love and faith for you! For our God is awesome and did not create us for us to be spiritually naked, poor, hungry and thirsty in this world, but that all of our spiritual and physical needs be met in Him, through Him and only found in Him, our Water of Life and Fountain of Living Waters! Blessed be His holy name, always and always, for His unspeakable love and provision! And as the Lord reminds me so I can give unto you what He says in Revelation 22:17, so I write: "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely."

Go with God, have a peaceful, joyful and blessed week. And remember that you are not alone in this world and that the Lord is always with you and is always available to help you, and meet all of your needs, according to His riches in glory, spiritually and physically. For He is a rich God, and not a poor God. And I don't say this for you to use Him, for your convenience, and then leave Him, but to know that we have a big God who is full of all of our needs and is willing to share them and give them to us freely, because He adores us, and sees that we have need of them. For He is rich in His love, joy, peace, mercy, compassion, patience and spiritual and physical provisions that He can give us in abundance, so we can also share and give them away unto others, as we overflow and they are also in need of Him and of them (their spiritual and physical needs). For this is why King David said in Psalm 23:5, that his cup runs over: "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over." Blessed be His Sweetest, Powerful and Almighty Name! Amen!
