Not Letting Our Hearts Be Troubled! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Sweet, Faithful, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our God with us and Mighty God. It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well, courageous and full of the spiritual life that the Lord died for us to obtain and that He alone can give us, as He says in His Word and promises to give unto the believer in Him in the Book of Jeremiah in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." And in the Gospel of John in John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
For the Saints of God are not as those who serve sin, the world's system, and are without the Lord to make it in this world. For we have the Lord and remember that our Lord is always available to help us and is a very present help in times of trouble, as it is written in Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
So we have hope and this is why we must not fellowship and make friends with those who are not saved, because the devil through them, will discourage us, pull us away from God and bring us down spiritually, emotionally and physically.
On this day let us also remember to have no fear and not let our hearts be troubled, as the Lord is with us and comforts us, as we read in the Gospel of John in John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
For the Lord will never give us more than what we can bear and the evil that He allows to happen in this world has purpose, as He is judging the unbeliever for their previous sins and is trying to get their attention to get them to see Him and get right with Him, before it is too late for their souls.
And to us His Saints when we go through the spiritual fire, we know that it is to purify us and to burn from us those sins that defile us and continue to trip us up, so we can be holy, as He is holy and be able to stand before His presence on Judgment Day without us being consumed by His presence, as He is a consuming fire.
For He has also foretold us of these calamities that would happen in the world before His Second Coming that we read in the Gospels. For remember that fear has torment, as it is an evil spirit sent from Satan that oppresses and torments man to take away our joy and peace, but as we daily abide in the Lord and seek Him, we grow in His love, trust and strength and do not walk in fear, as we read in 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
And as you spend time and time again with the Lord, He strengthens you and you grow in His love and also gain the strength to resist this evil spirit, for remember that is not by power nor by might, but by His Spirit that He accomplishes all things in the Universe and in this world, even through us, as He says in Zechariah 4:6 "Then He answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabbel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
So remember that the Lord is a Mighty God and lives inside of you and all of the fruits of the Holy Spirit that are written in the Book of Galatians abide in you, as well as His boldness, power, courage and might, and there is no need for us to live in fear, when we have the Lord. So if you are finding yourself in fear of this plague that is out there, of your bad circumstances and of you not having your needs met, rebuke that spirit of fear and bind it in the Lord's name and seek the Lord for your protection from this pestilence, for your deliverance, guidance and for your needs in life to be met. For this is why the Lord taught us to pray to the Father, for Him to give us this day our daily bread in Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread."
I am not saying for you not to follow the guidelines that we have been given to stay safe and protected from this pestilence, as we must do our part if we want this disease to go away as soon as possible, but I mean that the Lord is in control of all things that take place in this world, as all things are by Him, for Him and through Him before they come to pass, as we read in Colossians 1:16-17 "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist."
Go with God, have a peaceful and joyous week, resting in the Lord and on His promises, remembering that as we daily cleave unto Him and watch His Word unfold in our lives and in this world, we are drawn closer to Him and to our heavenly home and all the sufferings that we have gone through and will ever go through will be forgotten.
For as He says in the Gospel of Luke for our remembrance in Luke 21:28 "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Because to everything under heaven there is a time and season, as we read in Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." And thank the Lord for that!
