Our Last Hope As Christians: The Resurrection! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Blessed, Faithful and Loving Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, our Bright and Morning Star, for in Him and with Him, we daily see where we are going, as He is also the Light of this world and of our lives, saints and sinners alike. It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well and strong in the Lord, you and your loved ones, both spiritually and physically. And to remember to continue to cast all of your burdens and cares upon Him, who greatly cares for you, as it is written by our beloved brother King David who wrote it in Psalm 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." And thank you Lord!
And also as the Lord through the Apostle Peter says in 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." And also this scripture, as I hear the Lord remind me, so I can give it to you, in which He says through Paul the Apostle in Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." For as we daily seek the Lord in prayer and give Him our troubles, He makes the way out for us to come out of them, also to have those things we are in need of and gives us the strength we need to go on in this world. For as His beloved people there's no need to be in fear and in lack, as if there was no hope, for remember that the Lord is hope and our steadfast, un-moveable and faithful hope in this world. So keep on believing in Him, and continue to be strong in your love for God and not doubt in His love for you and loving willingness to help you.
On this day let us remember that the last hope in this world we have as Christians, is the resurrection of our earthly bodies, after we die. As it is something we look forward to, when this old body of sin and death will be swallowed up in victory, as this earthly flesh causes us to die spiritually, also when we get sick and die physically here on earth. For it will be done away with and be resurrected into the new man that the Lord created in our spirits, after being born again and has been working daily in and for us right now, as we live in Him and die to our flesh or self daily.
For the Lord as He resurrected Himself and cannot ever taste death again and all the bodies of His Ancient Saints, who believed in Him and died in Him, before His First Coming to the earth, now almost 2,000 years ago. As we read in the Gospel of Matthew, will also resurrect those who died and die in Him, after His resurrection and ascension to Heaven, as we read that He did to His beloved Saints of old in Matthew 27:50-53 "Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent: And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many."
For this is also a promise that Job looked forward to and knew about that would be fulfilled, after his death and burial, when he said that after worms destroyed his skin, and his reins be consumed in him, yet in his flesh or in his new heavenly body, he will see God in the latter day, when the Lord comes back and reigns upon the earth for 1,000 years, as he wrote it in Job 19:25-27 "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me."
For as the Lord through our beloved brother Paul the Apostle promises us in 1 Corinthians 15:58, so will He also do, as He cannot lie and keeps all of His promises. "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; (because death entered the world through sin, when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden against the Lord) and the strength of sin is the law (because the law reminds us of sin). But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
And in 1 Thesssalonians 4:18, we also have the Lord's promise of our resurrection: "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
So let us not live as if there's no hope and be in fear of death, for the Lord conquered death for us, and as He overcame it and now lives His life in us, for us and through us, will again overcome it in us and for us, so we can live forever in Him and be with Him forever in heaven. For remember what our beloved brother Paul the Apostle said and revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, when he said in Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." So He lives His sinless life in us now, as we are saved and safe in Him. And also what the Lord Jesus says in the Gospel of John in John 16:33, for as He overcame this world, the sins of men, as He never sinned and also death, so will we, if we continue to abide in Him, by yielding to Him through His Word, Commandments, and prayer daily! "These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world."
Go with God, have a blessed, joyous and peaceful week. And remember to keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your life and faith, and as He wants me to remind you of this scripture in which He says through the Apostle Paul, so I do in which is written in 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power; and of love, and of a sound mind." For when the Lord requires your soul, He will give you the grace and all the strength you will need to go through the valley of the shadow of death or to cross the river Jordan into the Promised Land, which is Heaven our true home without you being in fear. For remember that we as His beloved Saints and Precious Jewels, can do all things through Him who strengthens us, so have no fear! For as Paul the Apostle says in Philippians 1:21 "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Blessed be His holy name, for giving us a place that we can actually call HOME!!
