The Lord Jesus: Our Covering! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, the Sweet Lover of our souls and Beloved Bridegroom! It is my prayer that this new year and this devotion finds you and your loved ones well, healthy and strong in the Lord, both spiritually and physically. For remember that He is our spiritual and physical strength in life and that His joy is our strength! For without Him we are nothing and have not His spiritual fire to keep us full or filled to overflowing with His Holy Spirit to help us and keep us going forward in life!
For this is why our beloved brother and mighty John the Baptist told us through the Holy Spirit in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 3:11 that the Lord would baptize us with the Holy Ghost and with fire. "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire." For this is the same anointing that the Prophet Elijah and John the Baptist had, which is the boldness, courage and fire of God to push us forward in life, carry us through life, by keeping us filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit and for our service to the Lord.
So if you are found wanting a fresh anointing, a fresh breath of God and a new infilling of the Holy Spirit, ask Him to fill you afresh with His Holy Spirit, for remember what the Lord Jesus says in His Word for us to do concerning all of our needs and hearts' desires, according to His will for and in our lives in the Gospel of John in John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye ask nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." And in James 4:2-3 "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not because ye ask not." But as Jesus said and continues to say in the Gospel of Matthew, that we must first seek His Kingdom or the things that belong to Him and pleases Him and His righteousness, then all of that which concerns us and we desire, will be added unto us, as we read in Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
On this day let us also remember that our Blessed, Loving God, Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, is our covering in life, both spiritually and physically, but mostly spiritually, as His blood upon us covers our sins and imperfections, before God or the Holy Trinity, and puts us in right standing with God, for it is our clothing spiritually, before the Father.
For this is why Paul the Apostle wrote and understood by the Holy Spirit in 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." And in Romans 3:21-26 "But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."
For just as He covered Adam and Eve's nakedness in the Garden of Eden, out of His mercy and great love for them, made them coats, after they sinned against Him, so has He covered our spiritual nakedness through Jesus' blood, as we read in Genesis 3:21 "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them."
For remember that the blood of animals and now the blood of Jesus had to be shed for the propitiation or atonement for our souls, as God the Father tells us in Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
⁰For the Precious Blood of Jesus also speaks on our behalf in heaven upon the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant that is in heaven to cover our sins, as we read in Hebrews 9:22-26 "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself."
For this is why the Lord in the Book of Revelation told the Church of La-od-i-ce-a and now tells those who are lukewarm and have fallen away that He counsels them to buy of Him gold tried in the fire, so that they may be rich spiritually and raiment or spiritual raiment that they may be clothed and that the shame of their nakedness do not appear before the world, when the world sees them commit sins and they are judged openly before the world and others, by God the Father, as we read in Revelation 3:14-19 "And unto the angel of the church of the La-od-i-ce-ans, write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou were cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear, and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
So remain under the blood of Jesus and His righteousness, so your spiritual nakedness before the Father is not seen and can be clothed, so that when the Lord sees you, He sees the righteousness of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus, upon you and not your sins. For remember that sin results in death, as it is written in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." And that the wrath of God abides upon those who are not born again, by the baptism of water and of the Holy Spirit, as we read in the Gospel of John in John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that beliveth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him." And in John 3:5-7 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Expect a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
Go with God, have a blessed, peaceful and joyous week, remembering that just as the Lord continues to be faithful and clothes our physical nakedness, by providing us clothing, as we daily need it, so will He clothe and continue to clothe your spiritual nakedness, if you let Him be your personal Savior and Lord of your soul and life, and continue to abide in Him. For this is why He wants us to let Him come in into our hearts, so He can save us, create in us clean hearts, renew a right spirit within us, live His holy and precious life in us, for us and through us, and eat with us, when we eat and us with Him, as He says in Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
Also remember to continue to wait upon the Lord without giving up on Him, as He works in your heart and life in the Spiritual Realm to put it in order before Him, according to His perfect will in and for your life. For remember that He has in the past and continues to make all things beautiful in His time, as we read in Ecclesiastes 3:11 "He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end." And that: "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." As we read in Ecclesiastes 3:1. So continue to stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, as you wait upon Him, for your love, faith and hope in the Lord is never in vain! For our God is faithful and will always be faithful and will continue to deliver us from all of our troubles, as we wait and daily abide in Him. Blessed be His holy name now and forever more!
