The Tongue Is A Fire! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Blessed, Faithful, Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Mighty God and Loving Husband, as He is married and committed to us every day and never abandons us, especially when we need Him and His help the most in life. Blessed be His Sweetest and Mightiest, Powerful holy name, always and always!! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well, both spiritually and physically, and strong in your faith and walk with God. As we cannot leave Him now, as we are living in these last days and things will continue to get worse and worse in this world. And now more than ever need Him and His daily guidance and strength in our lives to resist the devil, stay focused on Him and in our call of God.
For as we walk with Him, He remains committed and faithful to us in helping us, guiding us and staying close to Him and abiding in Jesus, as He promises Jerusalem and also us His Church, the Bride or Saints in Isaiah 54:4-6 that He is married to us or committed to us. "Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is His name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall He be called. For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God."
For the Lord can only lead us in the way that causes us to profit, as He loves us immensely and cannot fail and also promises us in Isaiah 48:17 "Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." So continue to seek the Lord Jesus daily and abide in Him, through His Faithful and Mighty Holy Spirit, as He leads you, so you can make it through life and to heaven, as we are now almost home and all of this suffering will be done and put away in our spiritual and physical life.
On this day let us also remember to watch the words that proceed out of our mouths, as there is power of life and death in the tongue and we bring curses upon ourselves, lives, loved ones and circumstances, when we speak death and cursing over them instead of life, as the Lord tells us in the Book of Proverbs, through King Solomon in Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
For this is why we are also commanded to watch what we say by the Lord, through His beloved brother James, the Apostle in James 3:5-12 "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father, and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh."
For we are to be a people of a few words, and not of those who speak foolishly, as we are the Lord's representatives here on this earth. And this is why we are commanded by the Lord to do in Ecclesiastes 5:2 "Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few." And also in Ecclesiastes 5:6 "Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?"
For we are made in the image of God and because we are made in His image and He commands things into being, by His spoken Word, we also have that same power to do the same and this is why our words come to pass, when we speak death and life in our lives. For this is why also the Lord commands us in Job 22:28 to decree a thing that brings spiritual life and not death. "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." And to call those things that are not as though they are, as He did concerning Father Abraham, as we read in Romans 4:17 "(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before Him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."
And as the Lord reminds me to give you this scripture that He speaks in Numbers 14:28, so you watch what you say before Him from now on, when you speak. For when we murmur and complain and speak death, we grieve His Holy Spirit and push Him away from us instead of drawing Him close to us into our lives to be with us and to help us. "Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you."
So have faith or as the Lord says and would say: " Have the faith of God!," and speak life, the Word of God that is life and the Water of Life in this world. And you will see that your life will start changing for the best that the Lord died for you to obtain and has for you. For remember that God is for us and not against us. And also remember that we will also be judged by every idle word we have spoken, as the Lord promises us in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 12:34-37 "O generation of vipers, how can ye being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
For our idle words and our sins are recorded in our books in heaven, as a witness against us. So ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins and for every idle word you have spoken, when you come before Him in prayer and ask Him to give you the grace to bridle your tongue, think before you speak before Him and before others and to be holy in all manner of conversation, when you speak, as we are commanded by Him, through His Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 1:15-16 "But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy for I am holy." For our words and our lives must always agree with the Word of God and with His holy ways. Blessed is His Holy Word and holy name!
Go with God, have a blessed, joyous and peaceful week, remembering that the Lord has done all He can do to keep us from sinning against Him willfully and from going to Hell. The rest and choice is now up to us, to apply His Holy Word and Ways in our lives, so that we can make it. So let us daily be wise and obey Him, knowing that we can do all things that He requires us to do, through His Faithful and Mighty Holy Spirit, who strengthens us, as Paul the Apostle understood and did, when he wrote Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." For there's absolutely no-thing and no one in this world, that is worthy for our souls to go to hell for. Hell is horrible and is a temporal place for the spiritually dead that are now there and will go there. As they will later be cast into the Lake of Fire, as it is the Second Death once they are judged by God the Father and Jesus, at the Great White Throne Judgment, as it is written in the Book of Revelation.
So live your life worthy of your calling, holy and acceptable unto God and for Jesus, no matter the cost. For as you follow Him and are willing and obedient to Him, He will give you the grace to endure until the end and to eat the good of the land here on earth and in Heaven, as He promises us in the Book of Isaiah in Isaiah 1:19-20 "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
So be wise and don't play with God and with your salvation, as tomorrow is not promised and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, as it is written in Hebrews 10:31 "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." And our God is a consuming fire and that's why Hell and the Lake of Fire burns with fire and brimstone, for it is His wrath!
