To Obey Jesus Is Better Than Sacrifice

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Faithful Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Hiding Place in this world and in our storms of life! It is my prayer that you and your loved ones are doing well, both spiritually and physically and that you are still seeking Him for your relationship and faith to continue to blossom and grow in and with Him and for all of your needs to be met. For remember that the Lord says that we have not because we ask Him not, as He says through His brother James in James 4:2 "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not." But the Lord commands us in the Gospel of John to ask so that our joy may be full in Him, as we read in John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

For the Lord is our Source and Spiritual Living Water in this world and in our lives, for remember that it is written that He is the Fountain of Living Waters, as the Lord says in Jeremiah 2:13 about those who have forgotten Him and seek after polluted waters in broken cisterns or broken people that are not abiding in Him for their spiritual thirst and hunger to be met. "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water." So continue to seek Him so you can continue to abide under the shadow of His wings for your salvation, provision, both spiritually and physically and for your protection.

On this day let us also remember that to obey the Lord is better for us than to give Him a sacrifice of praise or our gift of offerings, as the Lord has not delight in these, when we are living in sin before Him or living a double life and are walking against Him. For this is why He says about those who draw near to Him with their lips, including through song, but their hearts are far from Him, as God the Father says in the Book of Isaiah in Isaiah 29:13-14 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid." And this is also a prophecy.

And in the Gospel of Matthew the Lord Jesus repeats it again, as He told the Pharisees who kept on oppressing Him and trying to hinder and discredit His work to save His people from their sins and evil ways in the Nation of Israel, when He first came 2,000 years ago, as we read in Matthew 15:7-9 "Ye hypocrites, well did E-sa-ias prophesy to you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." For this is also why the Lord also said in Proverbs 14:14 "The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways; and a good man shall be satisfied from himself."

And as the Lord reminds me to give unto you this word about what He says about those that are lukewarm in the Church, that He will spue or vomit them from His mouth or from His body, as He says in the Book of Revelation in Revelation 3:14-19, so I write:

"And unto the angel of the church of Lao-d-i-ce-ans write: These things saith the A-men, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear, and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."

For we must be doers of the Lord's Word and not hearers only, as the Lord reminds me, so I can remind you, as He says through His beloved brother James in James 1:22-25 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."

For this is why faith without works is dead and works without faith is dead, as we read again by the Lord, through the Apostle James in James 2:14-26 "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith , Abraham believed God, and it was imputed (or accounted) unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

So obey the Lord in your heart by your actions, according to the Commandments of His Word, and not by your words only, so you can glorify Him, be and remain saved. For remember that as the beloved people of God, we are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill, for the world to see and draw near to God, so they can also receive their salvation, through Him, as the Lord tells us in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 5:14-16 "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

For as the Lord said through His beloved Prophet Samuel to King Saul in 1 Samuel 15:22-23, so He continues to say unto us today: "And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft (this he says because those who do witchcraft want to control others and by being in rebellion against the Lord, shows that, that person wants to be in control of his or her own life instead of letting the Lord take the reins or control of their lives), and stubborness is as iniquity and idolatry (because that person worships their own self instead of the Lord). Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king."

For remember that the Lord says to those who call upon His name, but do not obey Him in their hearts and actions in the Gospel of Luke in Luke 6:46 that: "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" And in Matthew 7:21-23 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

For by singing to the Lord or doing things for the Lord without our hearts involved because we truly love Him and fear Him is nothing to the Lord. For this is why we are told by the Lord, through the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." So don't abuse His grace and take it for granted, but use it to obey Him, for truly to obey the Lord is better than to sacrifice unto Him. For He has given us His amazing grace, so we can do all things through Him that exalts His holy name, including the keeping of His Commandments. Blessed be His holy name!

Go with God, obey the Lord daily and always, have a peaceful and joyous week, remembering that our Beloved Savior, Lord and God is holy, commands us to be holy, as He is holy and that without holiness no man will see Him, as He commands us in Leviticus 19:2 "Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy." Also in Leviticus 20:7-8 "Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy, for I am the LORD your God. And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you." And in Hebrews 12:14-16 "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator (spiritually and physically), or profane person, as Essau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright."

And remember that there is no-thing and no-one in this world, including own our children and loved ones, worth going to Hell and the Lake of Fire for, for we are commanded to not have any other gods before Him and to not love anyone more than Him. So love your soul and take care of it, always, for His death on the Cross for you and I was not and is not in vain! So stay strong in your faith and walk with God!
