Walking By Faith And Not By Sight! By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Wonderful, Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Elder Brother and Source of Life! It is my prayer that this devotion finds you healthy and strong in the Lord, both spiritually and physically. For remember that He alone is our joy, health of our countenance, hope and light in life, as it is written in Psalm 71:4-5, by our beloved brother King David, who knew Him and it is also a prayer to the Lord and from all of us. "Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth." And in John 8:12, the Lord Jesus also tells us: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." And also in Psalm 42:11 "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God."
So continue to walk in and with Jesus, so you can see the direction the Lord would have you go in your life and not be in spiritual darkness, for as the Lord told His people the Nation of Israel in His time on earth 2,000 years ago and also now says to us in the Gospel of John in John 12:35 that for a little while His Light or presence is and will be with us, and we must walk in Him while we have His light, for the day will come, when the Anti-Christ will be revealed in this world and reign for seven years and we won't be able to see the Lord spiritually, as we can now.
For as He says that he who walks in darkness or the unbeliever, cannot see where he is going, because he does not have the light of life, who is Him, as we just read above. "Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you, Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth." So daily be wise and take advantage of the Lord's presence among us in this world, through His Faithful and Mighty Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Truth and Water of Life, before it's too late!
On this day let us also remember to continue to walk by faith and not by sight or by what the Lord tells us in His Word and not by what we see happening in our lives and all around us in this world. For as we just read above, we have the Lord in our lives, who is our guidance or light in this world, so we can see where He is leading us to, spiritually and physically. All we have to do is trust Him and trust in Him, that He knows what He is doing, where He is leading us towards and is with us, leading us safely unto the other side of our troubles in life and to heaven. For this is why He commands us to trust in Him with all of our hearts and not to lean upon our understanding in Proverbs 3-5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
For when we lean upon our own understanding, trying to figure God out and His will for us, we start believing the lies of Satan and doubt His love for us. For remember that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, as He says in Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Remember that the Lord is for us and not against us and has promised us to never leave us nor forsake us and to give us a hope and a future or an expected end, as He says in the King James Version of the Holy Bible and as we read in Romans 8:31-32, by our beloved brother Apostle Paul: "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" And in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
For we must believe in His Word and in His promises to us, for He is a God who cannot lie and loves us un-conditionally and immensely, and as He reminds me, so I can relay it unto you what He says in Numbers 23:19 that: "God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?" All we have to do is wait on Him to come through for us with the answers to our prayers and for Him to finish what He has started in our lives.
For this is also why He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End of this world, of our lives and of every situation that He begins in this world, as He says in the Book of Revelation in Revelation 1:8 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Also in Revelation 1:11, the Lord also says: "Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea." And in Revelation 21:6 "And He said unto me, It is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."
So have faith, believe in God, wait on Him and do not walk by sight, for it leads to death, when you go by what you see in life and think is right, as the devil lies to you and brings you into confusion and fear and remember that fear has torment. And then you lean upon your arm of the flesh or any other man in life, which is also of the flesh, instead of leaning upon God and end up going through stuff that you do not need to be going through in your life and at the wrong place at the wrong time instead of in the Lord's perfect will for you.
For remember that being wise in our own eyes leads to death, as it says in Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." And that we also reap what we sow, as the Lord through the Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 6:7-8 "Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."
Go with God, have a peaceful, joyous and blessed week, remembering that when your spirit is down and discouraged to strengthen yourself in the Lord, as King David did, by worshipping and praising Him in spirit and in truth. For when we do, the Lord lifts our hearts and spirits up, deposits in us what we need to overcome this battle and encourages us to continue to fight the good fight of faith in the spirit, not give up and gives us the courage and strength to put the devil where he belongs, which is under the soles of our feet! For remember that He has delegated His authority to you and I, to overcome Satan and not let him defeat us. Blessed be His holy name!
Also remember that until our day to be with the Lord comes, we are going to be having trouble in this world, and that there is no discharge or release from the spiritual war that we are in, as we read in the Gospel of John in John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
And in Ecclesiastes 8:8 "There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war: neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it." And as the Lord reminds me to give you this Word to encourage you to continue to wait on Him, so I do, which He says in Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
