Walking In Discernment By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day my beloved brother or sister in our Faithful, Loving Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Salvation and Lily in and of our valleys. It is my prayer that this devotion finds you well both spiritually and physically you and your loved ones, and also relying upon the Lord and not upon the arm of the flesh, as the Lord warns us in His Word about this for us not to do in Jeremiah 17:5 "Thus saith the LORD, Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD."
For as Christians and the Lord's beloved people we are called to depend upon the Lord only and not upon others or upon ourselves, as He alone is our Source of Life, both spiritually and physically and is a Jealous God and provoke Him to jealousy, when we seek others for our needs. So if you are finding yourself in need or in want of anything in your life from the Lord both for your body or inner man, spiritually, do not be shy to come to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to supply your needs. For this is why He says through His brother James in James 5:2 "Ye lust, and have not; ye kill, and desire to have; and cannot obtain; ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not." And Jesus says in the Gospel of John in John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye ask nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." So ask and ask and keep on asking until the answer to your prayers come through from the Lord, for the Lord likes persistence, and a heart that does not gives up! For we are not called to give up or give in, but to fight in the spirit for our blessings and deliverance to come through, as it is written in Ecclesiastes 8:8 "There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit, neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war, neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it."
On this day let us remember to walk in discernment as we are in the last days and there are many wolves in sheep's clothing out there. For this is why the Lord warns us and commands us to beware of false prophets in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 7:15:20 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
We use this discernment by knowing the Word of God so well, as the Lord says, so that we do not fall into deception, by comparing everything we hear or read with the Word of God. For as the Lord says in His Word in Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee." So what comes out of his mouth will tell you if it is from God or not, because as the Lord says in Matthew 15:6 "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man." And this is why it defiles him, as He says in Matthew 15:17-20 "Do not ye understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies; These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man." For this is why He commands us in Proverbs 4:23 to: "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are (or come) the issues of life."
So let us test the spirits that come our way if they have been sent to us by God, as the Lord through the Apostle John, the Beloved, tells us in 1 John 4:1-5 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them."
And the Lord reminds me to give you this scripture in which He says in the Gospel of Luke in Luke 21:19 "In your patience possess ye your souls." Or "as you await for my soon coming return, take care of your soul that it does not go astray from the truth of my Word." And "to love the truth and nothing but the truth," as He commands us to do in Proverbs 23:23 "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding." Remember that the devil has his workers in the Church, as they transform themselves as angels of Light or of God. For this is why the Lord through the Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
So love your soul and take care of it. Ask the Lord to give you discernment and know that as you continue to spend time with the Lord in His Word, your discernment and faith will grow and you will be able to tell when someone is not speaking to you the truth, according to the Word of God. So as the Lord Jesus would say and Commands us to be in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 10:16 "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
Go with God, have a peaceful, joyous and blessed week walking in wisdom and discernment, for remember that wisdom gives life to those who have it, as we are told by the Lord through King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 7:12 "For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it." And remember that you are never alone even when all loved ones and friends are gone, for the Lord is always with you, for He is the Friend that sticks closer than a brother, whether we are with Him or not, as it says in Proverbs 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
For He is always with us, as He promised us and commands us to preach the Gospel in Matthew 20:19-20 "Go ye therefore , and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Blessed be His holy name, for His daily faithfulness in our lives and to our souls!
