Watching And Praying!

Watching And Praying! By Nanyamka Boyer

Good day to you my beloved brother or sister in our Loving Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, the Lily of the valleys and of our valleys in life. It is my prayer that this devotion finds you full of faith, courage, power and boldness in the Lord and in His joy and comfort. For remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength, as we are told by the Governor Nehemiah in Nehemiah 8:10 "Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry: for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

For as we go through the dark night of the soul or through the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord is with us, for He has promised us that He will dwell in the thick darkness, as we read in 1 Kings 8:12 "Then spake Solomon, the LORD said that He would dwell in the thick darkness."

So He is with you, as He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you in Hebrews 13:5 and be content with what you have, as He says: "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never have thee, nor forsake thee."

So keep your chin up and do not be bewildered at the fiery trial that is trying or testing your faith, for remember that our brothers and sisters around the world are also going through suffering, as we are told by the Lord through the Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 4:12-13 "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy." And in 1 Peter 5:8-9 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."

So stay strong in and for Jesus, as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, for remember that His rod and staff comforts you, as it was with our beloved King David, when he wrote in Psalm 23:4 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

On this day let us remember to watch and pray, as He says for us to do in the Gospel of Matthew in Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."As we need the Lord to help us resist the devil and his temptations and also in this world, to bless our lives and our land. For remember what He commands us and promises us in 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

For not praying is a sin and the Lord holds us accountable to it, and this is why the Prophet Samuel told the Nation of Israel that it would be sin to him if he did not pray for them, as we read in 1 Samuel 12:23-25 "Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: Only fear the LORD and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things He hath done for you. But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king (and in this case the devil)."

For as the Lord's Saints we are called to be a watchman on the wall, and watch what is daily happening in our lives, in our city, country and world and give it to the Lord in prayer.

For remember that the Lord is our problem solver and He commands us to pray for the peace of the land, especially of Jerusalem, as we read in Jeremiah 29:7 "And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace." And in Psalm 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee."

The Lord has told me that our prayers are making a difference, so there has been a lot of plans of the enemy that has been adverted it and changed that the Lord has intervened on our behalf. So do not stop praying, as it is our salvation to call upon the name of the Lord, for remember that those who call upon His name are saved, as we are promised by the Lord through the Apostle Peter in Acts 2:21 "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." And in Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

And this includes for whatsoever we need Him to save us from and not only for the salvation of our souls. So call upon His name, as He commands us to to do in Psalm 50:15 "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."

Go with God, have a joyous, peaceful and blessed week, remembering that you are the Lord's watchman on the wall, as the Lord promises Jerusalem that He gave her in Isaiah 62:6-7 "I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give Him no rest, till He establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth." For when we watch and pray, we destroy Satan's plans against us and against the world, through our mighty and faithful prayers before they happen. So keep on praying and take the battle to the gate before the devil has the time to even plan his schemes against you and your land, as we are promised by the Lord in Isaiah 28:5-6 "In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of His people, And for a spirit of judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate."
