Who Do You Say I Am? By Nanyamka Boyer
Good day Saints, my beloved brother or sister in our Sweet, Faithful, Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, our Strong Tower, Great I Am and Refuge from our storms of life, both spiritually and physically! It is my prayer that this blog finds you healthy, strong in the Lord and abiding under His wing, for comfort, strength, shelter and protection. For as we daily abide in Him, we know as His beloved children that "all things are possible with Him, and to those that believe in His name" as He says in Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." And in Mark 9:23 "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."
So there is hope, for we know that our God can always move our mountains of sicknesses, poverty, emotional and mental sufferings in our lives. For He is a God who is close at hand to us and not afar off, as He says in Jeremiah 23:23-24 "Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD, Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD." So know that whatever it is that you are going through right now at this very moment in your life that the Lord is in full control of it, sees you and knows all about it. And is going through it along with you, and will see you through its' end, as He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end of all things in this world, including of our lives, as He says in Revelation 22:13 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." Blessed be His holy name, for as it says in His Word, by our beloved King David in Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
On this day let us focus on who the Lord is in our lives and to us personally, for as we recognize Him, as the Son of God and God Almighty or the I Am of our lives, we let Him be all He can be and needs to be for us, who is the Savior and Beloved Lord of our lives. For this is why He asked His disciples, when they were in Caesarea Philippi, where the pagan idols of the people of the land, where located at, at that time, as we read in Matthew 16:13-19 "When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, (derived from Greek (Petros) meaning "stone") and upon this (the Lord speaks of Himself, as the Lord has told me), rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
For this is why He asked them: "But whom say ye that I am?." Because the Lord wanted and to this day wants to know how do you see Him in your own personal life? Do you see Him as an historical figure, who lived on earth almost 2,000 years ago to just be rejected of men and be crucified? Because in the eyes of those who did not believe in Him and did not understand who He was, saw Him as an heretic? And also do you see Him, as a man who troubled the people and their ways, by not agreeing with their evil and by not giving them what they wanted to hear? Or do you see Him, as His disciple and Apostle Peter saw Him, as the Christ or the Anointed One, sent from God to die for your sins and mine on the Cross, so we can have eternal life and a better life here on earth? And as the Son of God, who is God Almighty and the second person in the Holy Trinity? And also is the only One who can be your Savior and Lord, who supplies all of your daily needs according to and through His riches in glory? And is there for you to comfort you, strengthen you, when you are hurting, are all alone and forgotten by men?
For as you see Him for who He is in this world and in your life, then He can be all you could ever need in this world for you. For this is why He commanded Moses to tell the children of Israel, when he came to them that: "I Am hath sent me unto you," as we read in Exodus 3:13-14 "And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say unto me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shall thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."
So let the Lord be all you could ever need in your life, for the sake of your soul. For if you are in need of a Savior, as all of us daily are, let Him be your own personal Wonderful Savior. Or in need of the Lord in your life, let Him be your Lord. Or in need of a healer, let Him be your healer, let Him be your healer or if you are in need of a deliverer, so let Him be your deliverer. Or of a counselor, let Him be your counselor and are in need of wisdom, let Him be your wisdom and so forth. But don't see Him, as the person He is not, as a myth or a figment of your imagination or be as someone who received a history lesson or a story passed down to you, through the generations. But see Him, as God Almighty, the Sweet and Loving Savior and Lord of the world and of your soul and life, the Bright and Morning Star, the Lily of all your valleys, your Strong Tower, the Wonderful Counselor, the Rock of Ages, the Ancient of Days, the Mighty God, the Great I Am, the Blessed Redeemer, the Prince of Peace, your All in All! For when you do, believe me, you and your life will never be and stay the same! Blessed be His holy, glorious, powerful and Almighty name, always and always!
Go with God, have a wonderful, joyous and blessed week. And remember that the joy of the Lord is your strength and that there's not a place in this world that the Lord is not, for as He says and we just read above in Jeremiah 23:24 "Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD, Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD."
